“What the Book Is All about”
Do you want to learn about science?
Well, here is a book that will certainly let you do that and with lots of pleasure like – WOW, I didn’t know that!!!

INTRODUCTION
I am a physicist, now retired. I have recently
published a book about science entitled Demystifying Science. My book explains many scientific concepts that can be easily grasped by most readers in the lay public – the need for such a book is to stimulate a public awakening
about science.
I have also produced
a video to add detail to the contents of my book, Please visit:
I enlighten readers to the concepts of:
COSMOLOGY
QUANTUM MECHANICS
STORY OF HOW OUR ANCESTORS
LEFT AFRICA 50,000 AGO
AND POPULATED THE ENTIRE EARTH
COSMOLOGY: where and when did some thinkers first consider that the it’s the earth that orbits the sun rather than the opposite?
Copernicus – About 1543 he published his theory of a heliocentric solar system in which the planets orbit the sun, that the earth is a planet which orbits the sun every year, and turns on its own axis, daily.
He had figured it all out, but no one believed him.
Galileo – In 1610 he published his acceptance of the Copernicus heliocentric theory based on his use of the newly invented telescope. (He also investigated and published many other results from his own investigations: gravity, relativity, the pendulum, hydrostatics, military compasses and more). He is now considered the father of the scientific method and modern science. (P22 in my book to see details)
Modern Discoveries – It turns out that the earth is not so supreme compared to other planets in the solar system. (P 24 in my book to see details)
Yes, that’s us, that tiny dot third
from the left!!

But surely the sun is the most gigantic
star in the universe – not so, it’s just a mediocre star. (P 25 in my book to see details)

We are in an ordinary galaxy –the Milky Way which contains about 250 billion stars.

QUANTUM MECHANICS
First step to QM started in 1900 when Max Planck to solve blackbody radiation problem by claiming energy could be issued in bursts called photons.(see P 83 in my book)
Albert Einstein used the idea of photons to explain photoelectric effect in 1905. (see P 85 in my book)
Then an astounding discovery that, in the atomic world, light contained particle attributes and particles contained wave aspects. A truly amazing insight that launched QM in the 1920s when, almost as if on cue, came onto the scene a group of young and incredibly bright physicists. The group produced a theory that claimed atomic particles could not be located with precision but only existed intangibly in several, possible locations with a probability assigned to each location. A physical measurement then produced the actual location of the particle. QM thus introduced probability into the atomic world. (see P in my book)
GENERAL THEORY OF RELATIVITY
In 1915 Albert Einstein published his General Theory of Relativity after having spent 10 years of intense study and enormous efforts. His theory involved a new, very different way of understanding gravity. The mathematics proved to be very difficult with the use of curved coordinates and a mass system interacting with space-time. There is a discussion in my book of his ideas, and includes the 100 year old mathematics he needed to learn and master to apply and to produce his theory which showed mass does indeed bend light by distorting space-time. (see page 75 in my book)
In 1919 his theory was experimentally confirmed via a famous measurement during an eclipse of the sun. Such confirmation was published immediately by the London and New York Times and so introduced Einstein to the world. He became a celebrated genius, greatly honored for the rest of his life. (see that captivating story in my book on P 80)
CLASSICAL MECHANICS
Classical Mechanics is essentially understood through the life of Issac Newton. His father died while he was in utero, a most unusual birth for a most unusual man, who became perhaps the greatest scientific thinker the world has ever known. This lonely, introverted man, born in 1643, was the first to apply mathematics to unite the various physical effects we all experience thus providing the tools for the engineering that we now enjoy in our modern civilization. He showed how force and acceleration are mathematically related, the relations between mass and gravity, how visible light is composed of the different colors we all can see, how telescopes of his times could be enormously improved in addition to inventing calculus he applied to other problems he was investigating.
Newton’s life story of his towering achievements, of the breath and range of the topics he investigated, with each investigation adding to our storehouse of scientific knowledge demands and ensures our affirmation that he was the consummate scientist in history.
THE DNA MOLECULE
The race to discover of structure of the DNA molecule ended in 1953 with the revelation that the molecule was a double hilux consisting of two backbones separated by four chemical pairs called basis as shown below.

This incredible molecule contains information, along its backbone, which is essentially a blueprint for a future individual such info passed on from his both his parents and also his ancestors. Once the operation of this molecule, current technology, now named CRISPER offers the ability to modify that blueprint to remove and change bad information leading to major disorders for the individual in his lifetime.
DNA molecules also contain instructions to produce proteins. Proteins are large, complex molecules required for many critical roles in the body encompassing the structure, function, and regulation of the tissues and organs. Proteins are the workhorses of the body. (There is an extensive description of the structure and operation of this marvelous molecule in my book beginning on P 109)
STORY of TODAYS HUMANS and HOW THEIR ANCESTORS LEFT AFRICA FIFTY THOUSAND YEARS AGO and POPULATED the ENTIRE EARTH.
It was clearly established by Charles Darwin that the human family, homo sapiens, was composed of many cousins of homo sapiens. Below is an image showing those cousins.

Then, a group of homo sapiens left Africa about 50,000 years ago and over the following many millennia populated the entire earth.
Everyone alive today except those few who remained in africa are related to those who left africa fifty thousand years ago.

In my book I describe the many different elements encountered in their journeys:
Language, warfare, clothing dogs, emergence of white and yellow skin along with their travel routes into Europe, Asia and Australia and New Zealand. (See P 127 in my book for an extensive narrative of that momentous venture.)
